THE FIRST POST DESERVES A SUNDAY!

So today all around was rough, I got to church at 7:30 which was good but we had technical difficulties as always. Which didnt bother me all that much, we all joke as a band that it wouldn't be a Sunday unless everything went wrong somehow.
But in all disappointment we didn't really play all that well today for the High school service. Its hard for me cause I pour so much of myself into what I do and its my offering to God, and when it doesn't go well i just feel like i have failed him. That's not to say that I don't understand that he is pleased with my efforts, but its like when you give someone a gift, but its one you just picked out and didn't put much effort into. wouldn't you rather give them one that took time and effort and you were pleased with? right?
Oh well, its over with, I felt like the students responded really well though. We took out all the chairs so that we could be really intentional about kneeling before God and offering up our lives and our worship to him, and i felt that it was a success.
Then i ran over to elevation (main service) to play lead with victor. I was kinda in a pretty Strong funk by then, and we did a quick sound check and then went for it. I didn't play all that well, but it worked. I just feel like i was not on my "A GAME" today. But then the next set we played and again i felt like i did alright, but i got a lot of feedback from people saying they liked it, so whatever, I'm not going to complain too much, if people were able to worship then I guess i did my job well.
And then once church was over we all (the high school paid staff) took our video lip sync winners to Buca for lunch which was really fun, although, being one of four guys in a group of about 20 girls can be a little overwhelming...yup, but now i am about to take a nap on Matt Doans office couch (cause my apartment got re keyed and i haven't been given a new key yet) and then go at it again for our parent meeting tonight! wish me luck!
