As You Step Into The New Year

As we have just closed another year, it’s right to pause and give thanks for progress made, lessons learned, and the ways God showed up. And as we step into what’s next, I want to invite you into an honest moment of reflection.
Who are you becoming as a leader... as a worship team member?
Not just what you’re producing. Not just how well the services flowed. Not just how many songs you learned or how many weekends you survived.
But who you are on the inside.
Because here’s the truth most worship leaders don’t want to face:
You can build a platform and still lose your foundation.
You can lead people well while neglecting yourself.
You can stay busy and still avoid becoming healthy.
And I don’t want that for you.
As we step into a new year, my challenge to you is simple, but takes effort:
1. Invest in yourself. Not casually. Not when it’s convenient. Intentionally. Consistently. Take that course, learn that skill, watch that training, get a mentor. GROW!
2. Invest in your team and relationships.Healthy teams don’t happen by accident. They are built by leaders who choose growth, clarity, and accountability over comfort. If you're a team member, be proactive in learning people's names and getting to know them beyond the platform.
3. Stay in community.Isolation is subtle, but it’s dangerous... especially in ministry. You were never meant to lead alone, process alone, or carry the weight alone. Lean in and be present.
4. Commit to becoming a healthy leader.Spiritually grounded. Emotionally aware. Skilled, but not driven by performance. Secure enough to grow, learn, and be challenged. Find a solid, Christian counselor. Pursue healing where you know there are wounds. (I'm so glad that I did!)
⭐️ That’s why I’m really excited about what’s ahead in January.
On January 22 at 10:00am CT, Michael Bethany will be joining us as a special guest inside The Worship Life Collective for our monthly community call. This won’t be a surface-level conversation.
Michael will be:
Answering real questions
Sharing wisdom from years of leadership
Dropping insight you can actually apply
If you’re in the community, you’ll be in the room for this conversation.
If you’re not yet part of The Worship Life Collective, I want to personally invite you to join us as we head into the new year. 👉 Join the free community HERE!
This next year doesn’t have to look like the last one.
You don’t have to keep leading on empty. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own.
You get to choose growth. You get to choose health. You get to choose community.
I’m grateful for each of you and I’m believing that this next year can be one of the most meaningful, grounded, and transformative seasons of leadership you’ve ever stepped into.
